WORKSHOP OVERVIEW Share two sets of free user-friendly tools:<ul><li><ul><li>STARS ArcGIS toolset</li><li>SSN package for R Statistical Software</li></ul></li><li>Demonstrate the GIS tools and the steps necessary to calculate the spatial information needed to fit a spatial statistical model in R</li><li>Demonstrate the statistical tools and their functionality for: <ul><li>modeling continuous, presence/absence (binomial), and count data (Poisson); </li><li>block kriging and prediction;</li><li>uncertainty estimation; </li><li>simulation and visualization techniques for space-time stream data</li><li>monitoring designs (developing new designs &amp; supplementing existing ones)</li></ul></li></ul>REQUIREMENTSParticipants attending the 3 day workshop must bring a laptop with access to R statistical software, ArcGIS, and the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension.
