Rally for a reading of Winter Miller’s play, Spare Rib and celebrate with a birthday party for Roe v. Wade’s 47th and the centennial of women’s suffrage. On January 15th, 16th, and 22nd at 7:30pm at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, many of New York&#x27;s finest actors will perform a reading of Winter Miller’s powerful and exhilarating play, Spare Rib, which The New Yorker calls a &quot;quasi-comic drama about abortion.&quot; Each evening is anchored by Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, House of Cards) and features a rotating cast of actors including, Purva Bedi (Dance Nation), Tina Benko (Taymor&#x27;s Midsummer Night&#x27;s Dream, van Hove&#x27;s Scenes from a Marriage), Nadia Bowers (Life Sucks, Classic Stage Company&#x27;s Macbeth), Cindy Cheung (High Maintenance), Emily Davis (Is This A Room, The Plagiarists), Paige Gilbert (The Rose Tattoo), Susan Hyon (Happy Hour), Maryann Plunkett (Little Women), Kate Rigg (The Jammer), Jeanine Serralles (Girls), Lily Santiago-Hudson (Othello), Pernell Walker (The Deuce) and Zoe Winters (Succession).Announcing Our Cast for this Wednesday, January 22nd:Purva Bedi, Tina Benko, Kathleen Chalfant, Emily Davis, Paige Gilbert, Jeanine Serralles, and Kadijah Raquel!Our special guest host will be Samantha Bee, fresh from a taping of Full Frontal!This may be Roe&#x27;s last birthday, so to fuel the fight ahead for reproductive freedom for all, we&#x27;re serving appropriately-themed birthday cupcakes with champagne for our audience. These three evenings raise money toward a full production of Spare Rib, and help fund abortions at Red River Clinic, North Dakota&#x27;s only provider, and Trust Women’s clinics in Oklahoma and Kansas. Inspired by the work of playwrights Caryl Churchill and María Irene Fornés and the artist Judy Chicago, Spare Rib tracks a secret cabal of (in)famous women who demand reproductive freedom. winter miller’s community theater in association with Lory Henning (Blue Man Group) are thrilled to be back at the Rattlestick after our sold out run of No One is Forgotten.winter miller&#x27;s community theater is a playwright-driven theater company.
