What is a Spanish-English Language exchange, and how does it work?

A language exchange meeting is an event where people come together to practice speaking a particular language, in our meetings we are passionate about Spanish. We will be at a large table and take turns speaking English first (for 45 mins to break the ice) then switch to Spanish.

Do I need to be fluent in Spanish?

No, you don't need to be fluent. Our meetings are for people of all proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced speakers. The purpose is to practice and improve your language skills in a supportive and friendly environment. Don't be afraid to make mistakes – it's all part of the learning process!

Is this a class?

No, this is not a formal class. This is just the perfect playground to put in practice what you learned in class. Some people bring a notepad and take notes. - If you are interested in attending tutoring sessions, private or small group classes please ask Rodney for information.

Is parking free?

Yes, this event has plenty of free parking on site.

What topics will be covered during conversation?

While any topic is welcome, we generally avoid discussing political or religious matters, as these are often considered private.

Spanish-English Language Exchange

Welcome to the Spanish-English language exchange. We are a conversation group, not a formal class. (Personal classes, small group classes, and tutoring sessions are available for those interested, ask Rodney for details) We will speak 45 min in English and 45 min in Spanish. An intermediate, conversational level is recommended, but all levels are welcome as long as you’re willing to try having a conversation. Or if you don’t feel comfortable speaking, you’re free to listen. We are looking forward to meeting you and chatting!

Don’t be shy and ask for us. We will have a sign on the table.
