Welcome & introduction, the history, what is sourdough starter, care instructions, ingredients & equipment, mixing our dough and step by step tutorial of recipe.

About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Learn to make fresh sourdough bread! In this class, you'll learn everything you need to know about the sourdough baking process, including:

  • Learn the art of sourdough bread baking from scratch
  • Receive a beginner's sourdough guide, with a recipe included.
  • Receive post-workshop support to make sure your sourdough journey is asuccess.
  • Hands-on training where you get to start your dough to take home and bake the following day

    *It is recommended that each participant have a Dutch Oven at home since everyone will bring home dough to bake later that night/weekend. As well ensure you have time after the class to continue the preparation process. You will need to purchase a sourdough starter additionally if you would like to continue making sourdough bread and other products of your own.
  • Please bring a medium sized bowl and a tea towel, large enough to cover the bowl.

Starters will be available for purchase in class for $15

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring anything to the class?

Yes, a medium sized bowl and a tea towel that will cover your bowl. If using a steel bowl make sure it is stainless steel.

Will I have a baked loaf that night?

No, you will take your dough your started in class home and continue the process. At the earliest you will have it baked the following day.

Do I need a Dutch oven?

A Dutch oven is essential when baking sourdough bread as it creates the perfect environment for your bread to grow in the steam that is sealed in there. There are other methods out there however I have only baked with a Dutch oven.

Please Note:

This workshop is held in my home, and we do have pets however they will not be in the workshop space.
