Sound Scene Workshop: "Sampling Workshop"

Born in 2003, DC Listening Lounge is an audio collective of Washington DC-based sound artists, documentarians and enthusiasts.  We meet monthly to listen together, lead workshops, audio-field trips and curate Sound Scene. DCLL members (anyone can freely join) include: radio professionals, composers, producers, music-makers, found sound collectors, instrument-constructors, educators, archivists, editors, storytellers, improvisers, coders, riddle-writers -- you?

DC Listening Lounge

Join DCLL aritst Sonia Maria to take a spin on music and technology. Learn to sample antique and bygone sounds. Manipulate them into your own composition with the addition of sound effects and audio tricks. 
All ages welcome
*No prior DJ experience needed
*Each Sample DJ workshop will be capped at 5 people. Participation will be on a first come, first served basis.
Sampling Workshop is a workshop of Sound Scene: Mapping Memory, an interactive audio art installation July 7th and 8th, 2018. Curated and produced by the <A HREF="http://dclisteninglounge.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">DC Listening Lounge</A> and the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden with support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
