Sound Lab: An Intermediate/Advanced DJ Experience

Come join us at Rhythm Section @ Artthaus Studios for a day filled with music, creativity, and learning. This event is designed to help you take your DJ and Music Production skills to the next level while connecting with some of the Industry's top DJs. Network with fellow DJs, attend a workshop, and vibe out through the evening.

DJs are at the core of so many events, but what we realized was that these same working DJs don't get as many opportunities to connect with one another outside of a gig to learn and/or enhance specific skills that are crucial to their long term success in the industry. So here it is - your chance to pick some brains, have those conversations you haven't had time to have, and learn from your peers.

The day is broken into two portions: day workshop/mixer and open decks/party:

The daytime workshop begins at 1pm with a Networking Hour - this is your time to come through and get to know a few other DJs in your community. Or maybe you schedule that creative brainstorm with that one DJ you wanted to collaborate with. We encourage you to bring your business cards and/or branded stickers as well.

At 2pm, we will officially kick off the Workshop portion of our day with THREE amazing breakout sessions to choose from, and then the last portion of the workshop will be spent connecting the dots together from the day.

The Breakouts:

1 - Remixing with Kutcorners: Music production for DJs made simple and fun. As DJs ,we already know music inside and out - learn how to take your ideas and make them into remixes or edits that help you create a sonic identity.

2 - The Booked & Busy Blueprint with Toy: Take your DJ career to the next level with this workshop designed to help intermediate DJs grow their brands and land bigger bookings! We’ll cover essential strategies for marketing, personal branding, and building a network that opens doors in the music industry. Walk away with actionable tips to stand out and stay booked.

3 - Creative Branding with Jon: Overcoming creative blocks and telling a story through music.

As a part of your participation fee for the workshops, you will also walk away with a 6 month Serato Producer Suite voucher. That by itself covers your investment to participate!

At 4pm, we open the doors and decks to our DJ friends and lovers of music alike to join us for one hour of Open Decks (advanced registration recommended) followed by two hours of curated vibes by Kutcorners, Toy, Jon and more DJ friends TBA.

Done by 7pm, just in time to go home and get ready for your week!

Meet the Featured DJs:

Kutcorners: Vancouver-based musician, producer, DJ providing a familiar combination of classic sounds with a future-focused lens.

Toy: Allyson is a a values-driven creative technology leader with over 12 years of experience across the US and Asia.

Jon: Jon Reyes is a veteran DJ and producer whose eclectic soulful sound resonates with dance floors and headphones locally and across the globe.
