Our annual event, “Soul Stroll,” will have activities leading up to Soul Stroll weekend (May 17-18, 2024).
- Wednesday, April 10th BACHAC hosts our fun virtual “Registration Happy Hour” to assist church/college/company/family teams, individuals, and senior community members with sign-up for Soul Stroll; plus answer any questions!
- Saturday, April 27th, we host an informational volunteer orientation and pizza party to prepare volunteers for the Soul Stroll weekend, share logistics, and talk shift schedules.
- Friday, May 17th, our VIP & Sponsor Reception kicks off the weekend with special guests, a meet and greet with the Soul Stroll 2024 Ambassador and former SF Giants MLB champion Kenny Lofton, plus drinks and nibbles!
- Saturday, May 18th is the Soul Stroll 2024 main event! Join us for a day filled with family fun and community feels. Walk, run, or bike while exploring our vibrant health-centered marketplace featuring nonprofits, small businesses, and more!

Our theme, "Movement is Resistance," symbolizes our collective effort to combat health disparities in communities of color. Movement isn't just exercise; it's a powerful tool for community wellness and a catalyst in advocating for equity in care. Proven benefits of movement and increased access to holistic health services include weight management, improved mood, and reduced risk of various health issues like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. ALL levels of ability are welcome!
Soul Stroll is a 1, 3, 5 Mile Run/Walk. The Soul Stroll health fair includes over 30 resources and corporate partners providing products, screenings, and information. Your ticket grants you access to the main event, a light breakfast, professionally led warm-up sessions, free health screenings by our partner providers, a healthy lunch, children's activities and the coveted Soul Stroll t-shirt!
Your support helps us continue providing FREE essential health and wellness education, health screenings and advocacy to underserved communities. Join our “250 Club” and become a sponsor of Soul Stroll for special perks, two Soul Stroll T-shirts, and two "ALL ACCESS" passes to both the “VIP Kickoff Reception”, and the “Soul Stroll Main Event”!
**Volunteer roles are available and people 15 and up can sign-up through Thursday, May 9th, 2024! To volunteer, select the volunteer ticket option and follow the instructions in your email order confirmation.

**The Soul Stroll walk for health is designed to activate communities in social justice and in health! Create a team and walk with your family, church, nonprofit or office colleagues while competing for the grand prize! To create a Soul Stroll Team, select the "Create A Team" ticket option, and order the number of tickets according to the number of people on your team!
BACHAC is a community based, grassroots organization addressing health disparities within communities of color in San Mateo County. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community, with a special emphasis on creating a safe space for BIPOC individuals. Soul Stroll 2024, our annual fundraiser since 2002, promotes good nutrition and physical activity. While most BACHAC events are free, this one requires admission fees, supporting our free health programs. Join us to sustain essential services for the community!
Soul Stroll 2024 participants embark on a 1, 3, or 5-mile walk at San Mateo's Coyote Point Recreation Area. Enjoy a vibrant health fair with free health screenings, a craft corner for kids, and soulful music by our guest DJ. Get inspired to stay active all year long! ALL levels of ability welcome!
General Admission (GA) is $30/person, with discounted rates for students and youth under 12. Sponsorship tickets for Soul Stroll start at $250, granting access to our VIP reception. Look out for discount promotions for GA tickets from March to May 2024 by joining our mailing list at bachac.org!
Volunteers are the heart of Soul Stroll, and we encourage all volunteers to invest in the communities we serve. Volunteer tickets are $25/person and grants access to free breakfast, a volunteer t-shirt, personal time to enjoy the event, a branded Soul Stroll t-shirt, and a free healthy lunch.
Soul Stroll 2024 is family-friendly! Bring everyone along - kids, adults, and elders! Adult tickets are $30/person with discounts for children 10 and under. Families can register as a team to compete for a $500 prize toward their chosen charity!
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and consider workout attire and layers due to changing microclimates at Coyote Point. Bring a refillable water bottle, a picnic blanket, and or a portable chair, as seating will be limited.
All guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks for Covid-19 protection. Soul Stroll 2024 is outdoors with ample space for social distancing. Masks will be provided upon request for added safety. For more information about current Covid-19 mandates, visit: https://www.smchealth.org/coronavirus.
