Soul Shop™ for Black Churches

Soul Shop™ for Black Churches is a one-day workshop designed for clergy, staff, lay pastors, and faith-based clinicians in the Black Church. Soul Shop equips faith leaders who are on the front lines of the mental health crisis to minister to those impacted by all the faces of trauma and struggle with suicide.

Integrate suicide awareness into your ministry so that:

• Suicides might be prevented among those at risk

• Self-injury due to suicidal desperation might be reduced

• Suicidal thinking might be opened to conversation and healing

• Persons concerned about the safety of others might be given the tools to help save lives

• Persons who have lost loved ones might be recognized and offered grace.

• Persons who have considered suicide in their past might be invited to offer the gift of their experience to others

**Montgomery County Ohio residents (or those working in the county) and those in the surrounding area will be given preference**

CEUs:

Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services has been approved by:

the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to offer continuing education credit hours to Counselors and Social Workers (Provider #RCS111304) and has approved this training for 5.75 hours (continuing) CEUs;

the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to offer recognized clock hours to Chemical Dependency Counselors and Prevention Professionals Provider #50-17863) and has approved this training for 5.75 hours of CEUs (C1=3, C2=.75, C3=1, C5=1) (P2=4, P3=1, CC=.75).
