Whether you're just starting out, or have been playing for years; whether you’re 8 or 85, you have a story. That’s where we start.
Songcrafting 101 is a 10-Week Course that will teach you how to recognize your own unique musicality. You will learn tools to generate, edit and craft your stories into complete original songs. The curriculum is designed to be accessible for anyone, and has something to offer even the most experienced musicians. Classes are held on Mondays at 6 PM PST at the Wendi Kirby Music School in Monterey, CA.
George Woods is a Professor of Songwriting at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music, and founder of the Monterey Song School.

Frequently asked questions
Yes! Though it is recommended that you have some minor previous musical experience. You should be able to pluck out a few chords and maybe sing a cover from end to end. Alternatively, if you are more on the production side of things, you should have some basic chord and melody knowledge.
Class is offered in person at the Wendi Kirby Music School on Mondays at 6 PM PST. However, if you'd like to join remote, you can.
Yes! Students can work with tracks or compose using digital production methods.
