This FREE creative song-writing experience is for women musicians and singer-songwriters to connect and make beautiful music together!

In celebration of Women&#x27;s History Month, Cultured South + Girls and Guitars are collaborating to host a special creative experience for women singer-songwriters and musicians.This workshop invites women who share a passion for creating music to connect and collaborate with others in the industry, step out of your creative comfort zone, and expand your scope of songwriting experience. For the songwriting portion of the workshop, participants will divide into groups of 4 to 5 people and spread out around the space to brainstorm. Using provided songwriting prompts to get your creative juices flowing, groups will have 1 hour to brainstorm and collectively choose a topic, then collaborate to write lyrics and put them to music or a melody. Ideally, there will be at least one instrumentally strong person in each group to help facilitate the chord progression and music composition. When the hour is up, everyone will circle up and each group will play and/or sing their collaborative work, adding as many instruments, harmonies and as much flare as you wish.Bring your song-writing notebook, guitar or other acoustic instruments, and a positive vibe ready to collaborate! O﻿PTIONAL Post-Workshop Writers Round: Stay after the workshop to share some of your original music or a song you are working on in a writer&#x27;s round-style setting. This is also a great time to build your network, potentially opening doors to future gigs, partnerships and other creative endeavors. Our intention for this event is to empower you as artists and musicians, provide a collaborative space to let your creative juices flow and connect with fellow creatives. Empowering female musicians is, after all, what Girls and Guitars is all about!ABOUT GIRLS AND GUITARS:Girls and Guitars is a creative community for girls and women who share a passion for singing and playing guitar, and desire to become more proficient guitar players and performers. The driving force behind our rising platform is showcases, educational experiences, and community. We are working to introduce more girls and women to the art of guitar and help strengthen our voice and presence within the guitar world.Girls and Guitars was founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist, Kyla Simone back in 2016. Their first showcase featured 5 dynamic ladies who play and sing and write their own music. This movement has since grown and has hosted over 60 artists on their physical and digital stage and have curated numerous educational experiences for their growing community of artists.Now the movement is spreading its wings here in Atlanta and is kicking things off by hosting educational and networking events plus their first showcase this Spring!
