This workshop will explore the latest advancements in Somatic Experiencing (SE) as presented by Dr. Dilara Özel and Dr. Ilknur İnci. Both of whom are Levine Research Award Winners. The session will focus on the application of SE techniques in clinical settings for groups, schools, medical related trauma, drawing upon the empirical research that underscores its efficacy. Recent studies, including the rigorous analysis of SE group interventions, highlight significant improvements in coping skills and reductions in depression and anxiety symptoms, suggesting SE’s potential as a robust tool in mental health and coaching.

Dilara Özel, Ph.D., SEP
Dr. Dilara Özel is an accomplished Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and educator based in Istanbul. With extensive training in trauma resolution, her approach integrates neuroscience, attachment theory, and the physiology of trauma. Dr. Özel's expertise is reflected in her work with complex trauma and her innovative use of Somatic Experiencing in educational settings. Ilknur İnci, M.S., SEP
lknur İnci is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology and a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She completed her master's in Clinical Psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University, specializing in adult psychology. Her professional journey includes advanced trainings such as Integral Somatic Psychology and Tune into Children. Ilknur’s work is characterized by her integration of existential psychotherapies with somatic practices, contributing significantly to the field through clinical applications and as a member of the EASE Scientific Research Committee.
