COURSE DESCRIPTION
Cementation and bonding materials have evolved to meet the needs of modern restorative
materials, resulting in many different types of cements for you to choose from. With so many
options, it can be challenging to know what to use and which options are going to give you the
most predictable results. This presentation focuses on choosing the best materials and
techniques to bring consistent, successful outcomes to your crown and bridge procedures.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this lecture, the learner will be able to:
• Identify what type of cement is most suitable for different clinical situations.
• Describe the main factors for cement selection.
• Discuss key steps and components for pre-treating modern restorative materials.
• Understand the importance of light curing, along with practical technique tips to
optimize outcomes
Chuck Hudson earned his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with
a focus on biomaterials from McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario,
Canada) in 1985. Chuck’s professional career spans over 38 years with
3M Oral Care, initially in research working on the development of 3M’s
first dental glass ionomer, then as Scientific Affairs Manager focusing on
education for the dental profession. Chuck transitioned from employment
at 3M in 2023 and remains active as a consultant, sharing knowledge with
dental groups across North America. For over 3 decades, he has lectured
extensively throughout the USA, Canada and internationally on dental
materials and techniques to enhance dental procedures.
