Solstice is Latin for &#x27;Sun Stands Still&#x27;. The Winter Solstice is the time when the Sun reaches it’s lowest point in the sky at Noon. In Northern Europe it has long been a time of celebration; Yule, Midwinter, the time of the triumph of the Oak King over his brother the Holly King, maybe the time when the Sun itself was reborn.This informal &amp; inclusive online ritual on the eve of the Solstice will comprise a little talk on the history &amp; lore of this winter festival, a little bit of music, a gentle call &amp; response &amp; a toast for us all to join in with. So mull something nice &amp; share the dark before the dawn.This event will be a Zoom meeting &amp; is free.
