Solstice Celebration

Built in 1850 and expanded and refurbished throughout its time as a private residence, the Glen Foerd mansion is currently home to an array of historic domestic artifacts, American and European art, and contemporary art installations.Glen Foerd is a Philadelphia oasis situated at the confluence of the Delaware River and Poquessing Creek. The public is welcome to enjoy the grounds and spectacular river views.

Join us near the Tennis Lawn by the Poquessing Creek to celebrate the shortest day of the year. Learn more about the importance of the solstice to the environment as well as throughout history. Don’t miss the fire-building demonstration!*Dress warmly and please bring your own camp chair &amp; flashlight.*This event is open to walk ups, so come along even if registration is full.
