About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Since 2020, non-monogamy has become a hot button topic — but always in a couple-centric way! This interactive workshop will introduce you to approaching non-monogamy as a single person. We’ll cover introductory topics like types of non-monogamy (from open relationships to polyamory), dealing with jealousy *and* how to find partners.

As a single-specific course, we’ll also explore how to navigate couples’ privilege, unicorn hunting, hierarchy, vetting and non-monogamous red flags.

Attendees will partake in determine their values, desires and concerns when it comes to opening up. The ultimate goal is to get you thinking about what type of non-monogamy will work for you, as well as create foundational pillars to go back to when things get tough.

FAQs

FAQ: what should I bring?

*A pen and paper for notes!

FAQ: what should I wear?

*Whatever makes you comfortable! This isn't a sexy course and we will be sitting at tables.

FAQ: any skill pre-requisites? (i.e., is this for beginners, advanced, everyone?)

*This is an all levels course — even if you're experienced in non-monogamy, the practices are intended to help you navigate big feelings, vetting, and how to deal with living as a non-monogamous single.

FAQ: can I attend solo, or do I need to come with a partner?

*As this is a singles class, it's preferred that you come solo! However, we all have different relationship orientations / intentions, so it's not a hard and fast rule.

Organized by

Hit Me Up is New York City’s curated community for poly and kink. We run meetups, parties, and teach kink with House of Yes, Caveat, Torture Garden, Dances of Vice, and other venues around the city. We got our start running small events for our friends that quickly outgrew multiple venues. Now we are working to build the kink and poly community that NYC deserves—safer, friendlier, and weirder.
