Solid Waste Facilities Tour

Everything you throw "away" has to go somewhere. Take a look behind the scenes of those processes at local solid waste facilities!

Check out the Solid Waste Transfer Station, Household Hazardous Waste, and Yard Waste Compost Site to learn where everything goes after you throw it "away."

Ages 5 and up; visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitors must wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Tour involves walking moderate distances outdoors. Participants will be provided with personal protective equipment (hard hats & safety glasses).

Tour meets at Resource Renew's Administrative Building, 2626 Courtland Street. Please note that navigation apps may direct you to a different building that shares the same street address (the Admin Building is the first one you see after crossing the I-35 viaduct on 27th Ave. W; look for the parking lot with flag poles).

Vehicle parking and protected bike parking available on site. Check Duluth Transit Authority for up-to-date public bus routes and walking distances.
