Solar Financing 101

The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is the leading authority on energy and environmental issues affecting the District of Columbia. DOEE's mission is to improve the quality of life for the residents and natural inhabitants of the nation’s capital by protecting and restoring the environment, conserving our natural resources, mitigating pollution, increasing access to clean and renewable energy, and educating the public on ways to secure a sustainable future. If you are thinking about going solar, there is good news: the price of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system has dropped dramatically in recent years, and there are more ways to pay for it. But with many solar options available, the marketplace for these products has become increasingly complex. It can be hard to choose among the different packages and vendors. The differences between them may not be easy to understand.
