Will there be solar eclipse glasses available?

Accepted Answer

WAWA will have a limited amount of solar eclipse glasses available onsite while supplies last. They are first come, first serve. Please note viewing any part of the eclipse without a pair of special solar eclipse glasses (sunglasses don't count) can lead to eye injury.

Question 2

If I do not have solar eclipse glasses, can I still view the eclipse?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there are several ways you can SAFELY view the eclipse without your own pair of solar eclipse glasses. 1) We will have several communal glasses that attendees can use temporarily to view the eclipse. 2) You can make a pinhole camera to safely view the eclipse.

Waiver

Parking

Accepted Answer

Street parking is available in front of the Historic Hartnett Community garden, most of which will be close to the site.  Attendees will walk down the hill from the garden into the Atlanta Black Cracker Field. Attendees should hide or remove items of value and lock their car doors.

Should I carpool?

Yes please! Parking is limited on the street, so please carpool.

Question 6

Are there restrooms?

Accepted Answer

There is a port-a-potty available on the grounds of the garden. The Outdoor Activity Center will be open and attendees can walk through the trails or (drive around) for public indoor restrooms.

What to Bring?

Accepted Answer

Be prepared to be outside on the field:  Lawn chairs, blankets, and comfortable seating | Snacks | Eclipse glasses (if you have your own) | Proper Outdoor Attire | Reusable water bottle (filled with water). If you pack it in, please pack it out!
