Save the date for the 6th annual Soil & Suds! If you are looking to add that picture-perfect plant baby or just slim down, we have that covered. Bring plants or extra gardening accessories and swap them for something new! Sip a beer (or 3 — we won’t judge) in Forest City Brewery’s outdoor Beer Garden while mingling 6 feet apart with other plant fanatics and shopping for new additions from our vendors for your own urban jungle. Have a pot that needs a drainage hole? Bring it along - we'll have volunteers drilling holes for ya! All proceeds will benefit a non-profit promoting the Cleveland Seed Bank. Don’t forget your raffle tickets to win some envy-inducing plants (TBA)!

We will supply you with 2 plants so you can participate in the swap. This is a great way for newbies to join in the fun!

SWAP RULES

1.) ALL PLANTS MUST BE - Happy, Healthy, & Pest FREE

Please don’t water them immediately before the event! It makes the pots heavier and increases the chances of them leaking and making a mess in someone’s car.

2.) Everyone values already-rooted plants over fresh cuttings. It’s a good idea to start rooting your cuttings ASAP.

3.) Please clean any gardening tools & supplies. If trading nursery pots please clean and bag them (up to 20 per bag).

4.) You are only to swap 1 for 1 (max 6 plants and/or tools).

5.) Must be present for the raffle to win.

SWAP CATEGORIES

INDOOR & OUTDOOR PLANTS + GARDEN TOOLS & SUPPLIES

-They can be full plants or rooted cuttings. They can be potted or bare root. (Please combine 3 cuttings for trailing plants.) Cuttings MUST be rooted. Please wrap the bare roots with a wet paper towel and put them inside a plastic bag.

-Outdoor plants that need to be cut back for the cooler seasons

-Outdoor gardening tools. Everything must be cleaned thoroughly. Ceramic & terracotta pots, shovels, edger, rakes, spades, trowels, hoes, pruning shears, wheelbarrows, gardening carts, bags of nursery pots (20 per bag), watering cans, soil scoops, etc. NO electric lawn equipment-

- Need help IDing your plant? Get there early, and we can help. Plants will be reviewed for identification, pests, or other issues to ensure they have rooted before tickets are issued.

-You will be issued tickets per how many plants and tools you bring (max of 6).

For some of you, this may be your first plant swap, so to help better understand our RAD process, please read the following.

1.) REGISTER + PLANT & TOOL DROP OFF - (12:00pm -2:45pm)

—Bring indoor plants, outdoor plants, or tools. (A limited amount of tickets (25) are available for those without plants to swap - see above.)

—Pay $10 to register

—Receive tickets for the item you are swapping.

—Label plants (if you need assistance, there will be volunteers to help)

2.) LEAVE MAIN ROOM - SHOP - DRINK A COLD ONE - (12:30pm -2:45pm)

—-All will convene outside for safety as helpers organize/switch plants around. This will help participants have an equal chance of finding a RAD new plant. While we are organizing you will have the chance to chat with others, shop, have a beer or two, and try out our soil bar. We will have soil experts there to help you find what will work best in plants you have or will be swapping.

3.) LET THE SWAP BEGIN (3pm -3:30pm)

—Participants will be let into the room.

—Tables will be set up in a square formation for easier hunting. Volunteers will be in the middle if you need any help.

—When you are done, go to the checkout exit to swap your tickets for the plants or garden items you chose.

4.) RAFFLE (3:30PM)

—Tickets for the raffle will be available all day $1- 1 ticket | $5 - 10 tickets

—Raffle prizes are supplied by sponsors- Anything from gift cards | rare plants | gardening supplies | plant photography sessions | baskets

5.) Go home with your new GREEN BABY
