The Cheshire County Conservation District has a mission to promote the conservation and responsible use of natural resources by offering technical, financial, and educational resources.  Since 1945 we have been working with the local land user to protect water quality, improve soil health, and enhance wildlife habitats.

There is also an application for steam in sanitizing greenhouse goods and distribution containers and preparing the ground for a pollinator planting. The use of steam offers a solution to perennial challenges for growers.The CCCD has acquired a soil steamer to make available to growers through their equipment rental program, free of charge in 2021!Join the CCCD along with partners at Picadilly Farm, UVM Extension, UNH Cooperative Extension, and the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) for this Virtual Workshop to learn more about how the Soil Steamer can serve your growing operations.<h2>You must register to receive the Zoom link to join this virtual workshop. </h2><h2></h2>Becky Maden of UVM Extension will be the primary speaker for this workshop. Becky Maden is a vegetable nutrient management specialist with UVM Extension who focusses on supporting vegetable farmers in their quest for improved soil health. Becky lives and farms with her family in Orwell, Vermont. Bruce Wooster, owner and farmers at Picadilly Farm in Winchester, NH, will share the specifications of the new equipment that will be available to growers in and around Cheshire County, NH.
