<P>Soft Sense is a workshop that teaches you how to build a soft, presence-sensing circuits and have objects respond. Soft Sense is also an intro to wearable and ‘soft’ computing as a vehicle for artistic engagement with the fields of art, design, and technology. It is designed to get you up and running with these technologies and techniques so that you can build weird wearable art, be a forward thinking fashionista or launch the next bio-tech garment startup. Or if you just want to make clothes that light up, that is awesome too!</P>
<P>In this workshop we will learn about techniques for working with soft conductive materials:<BR>- We will learn about mapping values with a micro-controller<BR>- We will learn about voltage division<BR>- We will build a soft circuit for sensing presence!</P>
<P>This workshop costs $60 and includes a component kit for building our wearable circuit. The Kit includes:<BR>- 1 Gemma(a tiny micro-controller designed for wearable projects)<BR>- 5 sewable leds<BR>- 1 #8 needle<BR>- 1 Photo-resistor& 1 resistor </P>
<P>You will also want to bring a garment or textile to modify, plus your laptop and a Micro-B USB cable for the programming portion of this workshop.</P>
