Mission: SofaBurn Inc is working to help artists build long-term sustaining careers by subsidizing health care costs while providing financial educationAbout: SofaBurn Inc was founded in 2020 when members noticed a need for artists to have support with healthcare costs to continue working post-pandemic. With most independent artists having to carry insurance through the marketplace, the cost of healthcare when serious needs arise can inhibit their ability to continue working. Since its inception, SBI has helped over 30 artists with a total healthcare savings of $15,000.00. In 2023 alone, it has helped 14 artists with a total of $4,675.00 in savings. In one instance, they were able to help an artists have an $87,000.00 healthcare debt removed through financial education.
