Sock Puppet Making Workshop

Join artist Anna-Maria Amato to explore life’s ups and downs through creating and bringing your own expressive sock puppet to life.

This is a playful session which explores characters and provokes reflection on life’s ups and downs. For adults and older children, if supervised.

All materials will be provided, but you may bring your own sock if you have a special one you would like to use.

The workshop will start with a short warm-up to get to know you exercise. There will be a Snakes and Ladders board where you will consider what has made you go up a ladder and what has made you go down a snake.

There will then be an introduction on how to make a sock puppet.

During the puppet-making, the personality of the puppet emerges. The puppet sock becomes a character with whom you can have an improvised dialogue.

You’ll leave with a self-expressive sock puppet and maybe a few stories and laughs. Your sock may never be on your foot again, but may become a friend.
