About this event

Light the torch and join for a week of Olympic-themed learning, projects and activities. With the 33rd Summer Olympics starting in Paris on July 26th, it is time to deep-dive into the world’s greatest sports spectacular. We will learn about the rich history of the games from the origins in Ancient Greece, through the most unforgettable triumphs of the modern games, to the plans for the 2028 games here in Los Angeles. Students will design a mascot for the upcoming LA games, design and compete in a “Silly Olympics”, and debate on how the games should be awarded to cities in the future. When the games in Paris dazzle spectators all over the globe, you will be revved and ready to see more history written.
