About this event

The Michael Leonardi Foundation welcomes Amy Neville with the Alexander Neville Foundation as our guest speaker on the topic of social media harms on youth and young adults.

Amy delves into the shift of the drug crisis, examining why it has become an "everyone problem" and how it's intricately linked to the lives of adolescents. Through a combination of shared real-life experience, data, and interactive discussions, participants will gain an understanding of the issue.

The current drug crisis is not a concern confined to specific demographics or communities; it's an issue that affects everyone with adolescents bearing a significant brunt of its impact. The rise of social media has exacerbated the problem, creating a complex web of challenges that demand immediate attention and understanding.

Since losing her son Alexander, Amy has dedicated her life to educating and spreading awareness of the dangers that killed him. If you know her already or have seen her work, you know that she cannot say enough about the pain of losing her son, but this is bigger than one fourteen-year-old. So many more adolescents and people of all ages are having their lives cut short through no fault of their own.

It is her mission to bring light to this issue and advocate for changes. In the last year, she has met with students, school counselors, school boards, PTAs, Scout troops, DEA agents, prosecutors, law enforcement, State and Federal politicians, and many more people to share and learn what WE can do to help. This is a difficult hill to climb, but she knows that her efforts are helping.

The event is free and RSVP requested so that we can manage seating.
