About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Compassion begins with leaning in, listening from the heart and making connection. Now more than ever, our communities are in need of connection. Social Connection Councils (SCC) offer a place for us to come together to nurture our own wellbeing, which in turn enables us to do good in the world.

Whether you are an experienced council trainer, or you’ve never participated in a council before, these sessions are for you. SCCs offer a stress-free space for people to be seen and heard, and a facilitated practice for connecting to ourselves and our community through mutual respect, deep listening and authenticity.

When you join a Social Connection Council you will be guided by an experienced Council Trainer who will provide basic instruction on the practice and form of council. All are invited to settle in and listen to one another, without judgment, and to speak from the heart. What emerges is a reflection of our shared humanity and collective wisdom.

Social Connection Council’s are offered through a choose-what-you-pay model. You can also receive unlimited access to Social Connection Councils by becoming a monthly donor. Donations and program fees support Center for Council’s ability to offer transformative programming to incarcerated men and women, law enforcement, healthcare workers, educators and community leaders.

SCCs are offered throughout the week, check out our schedule and we look forward to seeing you in a circle soon!

Contributions and program fees help Beyond Us & Them create the infrastructure to expand compassion-based programming that reframes the way we support law enforcement, healthcare workers, community-based organizations, educators and policymakers.

We're grateful to have you in our circle.
