SOAP: medium fragile processing
This production marks the first collection from SOAP, a transdisciplinary company founded by Gillian Caracostea.
“Medium Fragile Processing” strings three performances exploring transitional and vulnerable states of the body. Growing means no longer being what we were, but not yet being what we will become. The pieces highlight these slippery states of liminality, and examine the fragile and at times uncomfortable process of transformation and growth. Featuring: Elaine Tai, Louisa Pancoast, Elizabeth Hepp, Max Bowen, Macy Lancetta, and Gillian Caracostea.
SOAP creates essay-like performances bridging movement, music, spoken word, technology, visual arts and other mediums. The performance mimics the nature of human memory piecing ideas together to allow the viewer to come up with their own thoughts. Like soap bubbles, its ideas become distorted lenses through which feelings, energies, and fragmented thoughts swirl into temporary moments of lightness and expression.
