GAIN-GrayRobinson Tech Tuesday: So you Want to (Make, License, Use) a Mobile App [in or as] Your Business?

Mobile apps are becoming more and more a part of business and everyday life. This seminar will look at considerations for creation, adoption and distribution of mobile apps from multiple perspectives including mobile app developers and businesses looking to develop mobile apps for their businesses and customers.

Panel will include Tom McThenia and Max Minch of GrayRobinson along with Terrence Donnelly and Joshua Imel from Teeps Mobile App Development https://teeps.org/.

Terrence Donnelly is a self taught software engineer who was previously a career touring musician. He formerly worked as an iOS Developer at UniKey Technologies to build the iOS app for the Kwikset Kevo Bluetooth Low Energy door lock. He has extensive knowledge in software engineering best practices such as the Agile methodology. As the CEO and CTO of Teeps, he serves as the organization’s Agile coach in order to bring more sustainable development practices to the company."

Joshua Imel is a former touring musician that went to UCF in pursuit of a degree in Marketing. He was an entrepreneur coach at the Blackstone LaunchPad there, helping student started ventures succeed by teaching them concepts such as MVP and Lean. Joshua is the CMO of Teeps and spends most of his time on business development and marketing

Topics will include:

• Considerations and due diligence for creating or adopting mobile apps for business

• Issues with naming, brands and trademarks for mobile apps

• Considerations for contracting and getting paid/paying for mobile app development and distribution/usage

• Data privacy and security considerations

• Funding and financing considerations
