Snake identification

Welcome to our Snake identification event!

Snakes are one the most feared animals on the planet. Unfortunately, due to this fear and the lack of knowledge that humans have about these amazing creatures, thousands are killed each year. Join Bill Crisp for a learning session about Northern Virginia Native Snakes. "Not every snake with a pattern is a Copperhead!"

This session will focus on:
(1) What a snake is and why they are beneficial
(2) How to accurately identify local snakes and their mimics
(3) Best practices on how to deter snakes from your property
(4) BUSTING those crazy snake myths!
(5) All you need to know about Eastern Copperheads

(6) And more!

There will be snake ambassadors on display so you can get an up-close look at them in a safe and controlled environment. In addition to our ambassadors, there will be a ton of displayed information on snakes and other reptiles of Northern Virginia.
