<P>Smartphones are a game changer in the world of film. In an age where entire features have been shot on iPhones,  it is clear that the device in your pocket is a useful tool for any filmmaker. Join us May 12th for an interactive, hands-on workshop that wil teach YOU everything you need to know to turn the handy device you already have in your pocket into a professional film setup. Whether you're interested in telling visually compelling complete stories using your phone, or just capturing family moments on your iPhone, this is the workshop for you!</P>
<P>This interactive workshop will cover:</P>
<UL>
<LI>How to use your phone to capture the best shots.</LI>
<LI>How to use your tools already on your phone to capture amazing audio and make the most of your lighting.</LI>
<LI>Stabalizing shots, focus on options, and using filters.</LI>
<LI>How to edit your footage, transforming what's on your phone to festival-worthy content. </LI>
</UL>
<P>This workshop will include an interactive portion that will allow you to practice the skills covered in the class. It all goes down Friday, May 12th, 4:00pm at the DC Entertainment Office. Please arrive 30 minutes before the program for registration. This workshop is designed for participants aged 14-18. Enrollment is limited to 80  particpants. The workshop is part of the SmartPhilm Festival program and will be filmed and edited for programming on the DC Entertainment Office's DKN Cable Television network.</P>

<LI><SPAN>Group Limit: </SPAN>Maximum of  8 youth per school, organization or afterschool program <BR></LI>
<LI><SPAN></SPAN><SPAN>Group Registration and Youth Monitors</SPAN>: School, organization, or afterschool program representative must RSVP on behalf of that organization’s youth participants</LI>
<LI><SPAN></SPAN><SPAN>Youth Participant Information Requirement</SPAN>: Name, Age, Grade, Address (must be District resident), name of school/organization</LI>
<LI><SPAN></SPAN><SPAN>Age range</SPAN>: 7th to 12th grade only</LI>
<LI><SPAN></SPAN><SPAN>Equipment requirements</SPAN>: All youth participants must have their own mobile phone (Apple or android). No phones will be provided at the workshop. Please be sure to come with your phones or tablets fully charged!</LI>
<LI> Also, please bring your chargers or external battery chargers and get rid of any media and apps that you don’t need (like music and photos) for the event!</LI>
