Smart Kitchens San Diego Reception
Come join us on Friday, August 23rd to celebrate the successes of SKSD participating kitchens and nonprofits! Meet peers and colleagues of the SKSD program who are also committed to reducing food waste at an institutional level, network, and learn about the impact of your kitchen's or organization's actions.
We love having you as part of our Smart Kitchens San Diego Program! What is SKSD? Fifteen of San Diego County’s largest hotels, hospitals, and universities are participating in SKSD, which provides sites with Leanpath food waste tracking technology and connects them with local nonprofit recipients for food donation through the San Diego Food Bank. Thanks to grant funding from the CA Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) through California Climate Investments, the program is designed to reduce our carbon footprint by redistributing food that would otherwise end up in our landfill.
