Smart Cycling Part 1
Want to know how to bike for transportation safely? This class is for you.
Certified League Cycling Instructors will cover basic and advanced bicycle riding techniques in this 3-hour online comprehensive session. Topics include:
- How to fit a bicycle to you for safe and comfortable rides
- 5-step check process to ensure your bike is safe to ride
- How to ride in almost any road situation
- How to position yourself safely on roads, especially with cars present
- Safe practices for group riding
- Riding in low visibility conditions
This class is open to anyone age 14 and over. No bike or helmet required.
This class is the pre-requisite for taking Smart Cycling Part 2 (On-Bike), where we put into practice together in a safe controlled parking lot and guided group rides what is learned here. Taking it is highly recommended (To see all our class offerings BikeSiliconValley.org/Learn).
It is also a required class for anyone interested in becoming a certified League Cycling Instructor (LCI).
