Zen Cohenis a video artist, photographer and art director based in San Francisco, CA.  She received her MFA in Art Studio at the University of California at Davis and her BFA in Media Arts from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, CA. Drawing from multiple influences such as theater, ritual, media theory and mysticism; her projects are imbued with a strong foundation in the female perspective and seek to mirror the diversity found in her collaborators. Her work has been presented in venues such as the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, SFMOMA and the deYoung Museum.

Sluts & Goddesses Workshop (2.0) A one-day Experiential Workshop to honor your erotic body in a safe, sex-positive and supportive environment. Explore visual and performance art techniques to create two archetypal personas. Learn playful and seductive ways of posing in front of camera with a female photographer. Facilitated by Zen Cohen, MFA. visual artist, arts educator and photographer specializing in performance/video art and erotic photography.  About the Workshop:  The Sluts and Goddesses Workshop was created by Annie Sprinkle in 1985. It was taught around the USA, Europe and Australia. Her friends Jwala Ji, a tantra teacher, and sex educator Barbara Carrellas (author of Urban Tantra) co-facilitated the workshops with Annie for ten years. Zen Cohen recently showed interest in doing something similar, and Annie invited her to continue on the legacy of the workshops through infusing her own visual and performance art experience.  The Sluts and Goddesses (2.0) Workshop will include: + Wisdom Session: immerse yourself in a visual presentation and discussion of Goddess mythologies from around the world. Learn the secrets of Sacred Slutism through viewing a short excerpt of Annie Sprinkle’s “How to be a Sex Goddess in 101 Easy Steps." + Drawing Session: choose a goddess image from the lecture to sketch. Materials will be provided, no drawing experitise needed. + Embodiment Session: integrate the wisdom and drawing sessions into your body with guided movement, yoga, meditation and breathing exercises.  + Photography Session: adorn yourself in attire that invokes your two desired slut and goddess personas. Learn (or brush up on) how to pose in front of camera. Each participant will recive two images from their photo shoot.  + Surprise yourself by creating an image of yourself you have always wanted to see. Create an image with your body that inspires others. “You can change your consciousness by changing your clothes.” - Susun Weed  Who this workshop is for: + open to all womyn on the female spectrum, 18+ and over + individuals who have struggled with body image + bodies of all sizes and colors + individuals who want to learn (or be reminded) of how to use sexual energy as a tool for self-growth, self-love and empowerment.  + individuals with no previous visual or performance art experience + trained artists who want to explore using their own body as the canvas Tuition: $55-$75 sliding scale  Two work/trade offerings are also available to those that are experiencing financial scarcity.
