SLO Make A Difference Day
October 22, 2016. Make a Difference Day is San Luis Obispo County's largest single-day volunteer event, occurring every year on the fourth Saturday in October and welcoming hundreds of volunteers to do service around the county. Join us for volunteer events at 40+ non-profit agencies throughout the county and help us reach the goal of providing 3,200 hours of service to beautiful SLO!
Rally at Cal Poly's Chumash Auditorium at 9:00 a.m. for free breakfast, free volunteer t-shirt, and service location assignments. Volunteer service occurs at different locations in the county and continues until 2:00 p.m.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is free on Cal Poly campus EXCEPT in the Grand Ave. parking structure, which requires payment from a parking kiosk in that lot.
You need to transport yourself to Cal Poly for the morning rally, then to your volunteer service location assignment. We cannot arrange carpools. We will gladly connect you with others serving at the same location but, we cannot guarantee the availability of rides. Small numbers of volunteer events will occur on Cal Poly's campus if transportation is an issue.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
All are welcome to join! Volunteers under the age of 18 need a parental/guardian signature on their waivers. Contact us to receive and sign your waiver ahead of time!
