An intimate rotating dance performance and installation which meshes embodied research, fiber art, and digital projection.

SLIP is a rotating dance performance and interactive installation that explores how the labor of dancing and the ideals of craftivism are woven together through feminist values. The divide between crafts and fine arts is often mired by sexism and the devaluation of (traditionally) women and femme’s labor and this show explores that and other common themes such as ‘How do we craft meaning?,’ ‘How are we the craft and the crafters?’ and ‘Anti-capitalist mindset of productivity’ to name a few.This intimate one-day-only event will be held on Saturday, July 2nd with performances at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. The performances begin on the hour and last approximately 30 minutes and participants are encouraged to mingle, contribute, and be present in the installation space before and after.
