This half day session includes both classroom and hands on training, focusing on how to recognize, anticipate, and prevent hazards and the safe operations of a skid steer loader. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the responsibilities of a skid steer operator
- Understand technical and stability aspects of skid steer loader operations
- Understand how to identify workplace hazards
- Identify causes of skid steer loader accidents
- Demonstrate how to conduct a job site inspection
- Demonstrate how to conduct an equipment safety inspection
- Understand start-up and shut-down procedures
- Understand the entering and exiting procedures of a skid steer loader
- Demonstrate through a practical “hands on” evaluation, the
- safe operation of a skid steer loader
- Successfully complete a written exam of course study materials
Those who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Training Wallet Card. Please note this is not a Hoisting License class. Please contact RIDLT for information on who needs to hold a Hoisting License, and how to obtain one.
Who Should Attend: Anyone who operates a skid steer loader, or any supervisor responsible for such employees.
