Sizzle & Serve: Cooking Demo & Volunteer

Come join us for a fun-filled evening at Community Servings hosted by CYSL! Roll up your sleeves and volunteer with us in the kitchen then learn some vegetarian cooking tips and tricks at our "Summer Cookout" themed cooking demo. Our experienced registered dietitians will demonstrate some unique protein-packed vegetarian recipes to bring to your next summer BBQ!

Additionally, we'll host a potluck contest! Bring your favorite cookout dishes/salad/sides to share and we'll vote on the winners at the end! 1st place winner and runner up will receive a prize!

It's a great opportunity to give back to the community while having a blast. Don't miss out on this chance to sizzle and serve with us!

Whats on the menu?!

  • Black Bean Burger
  • Chipotle Chickpea Corn Salad
  • Your creations!

NOTE: Your potluck dish does not have to be vegetarian. However, Community Servings is a nut-free facility so please leave any nuts/peanuts out.

Here’s the lineup:

4-6pm: Volunteer in Kitchen

6-8(ish)pm: Cooking Demo, Potluck & Mingling

Tickets are free if you volunteer or are a suggested donation of $30 if you attend only the Cooking Demo. All proceeds will go directly towards Community Servings' medically tailored meals program.

*Our kitchen needs volunteers in order to serve our clients and volunteer slots must be held in advance. Please let Elyse Guley (eguley@servings.org) know if you are planning to volunteer from 4-6pm or simply attend the Demo & Potpuck portion at 6pm.
