Hold your hats on girls, Missouri Star Quilt Company is ready to welcome Sisters on the Fly to Hamilton, MO.  We are so excited that you are goin’ to join us for a rip snortin’ week of doing the two things you love most, campin’ & quiltin!  We will have a fun filled week of scavenger hunts, classes, and a visit to the quilt museum.

RETREAT SCHEDULE:

Monday Early check in to the Retreat Center:

If you are wanting to get an early start on the retreat or your flight brings you to Hamilton Monday, you may check in after 4:00 pm. 

Tentative Retreat Schedule:

MONDAY

4 PM - Arrival and check-in at the Retreat Center. Open Sew Time

** SOTF 6 PM - Dinner at Señor Barrigas Mexican Restaurant located at 800 S. Hughes St. less than 1 mile from check-in.

** SOTF 8 PM - Sister Orientation and "Get to Know Each Other Game".

TUESDAY

Note: All meals furnished by Missouri Star in the Retreat Center. (With the exception of Tuesday Lunch). All activities (like the Scavenger Hunt) will start at the Retreat Center. There is plenty of time to sew and shop throughout the day.

8 AM - Breakfast

12 Noon - Lunch (On Your Own)

3 PM - Scavenger Hunt

6 PM - Dinner

WEDNESDAY

Note: All meals furnished by Missouri Star in the Retreat Center. Wednesday is a full day of fun and lots of activities

8:30 AM - Class - Easy Tic Tac Toe taught by Susan Brown

12 Noon - Lunch

12:30 PM - Class - Signature Quilt taught by Jessica Vaughn

3 PM - A trip to the Quilt Museum - it is about a 1/4 mile to walk to the museum or you catch a ride -transportation provided by MSQC-.

6 PM - Dinner

THURSDAY

Note: All meals are furnished by Missouri Star in the Retreat Center. (With the exception of Tuesday lunch). There is plenty of time to sew and shop throughout the day.

7- 8:30 AM - Breakfast

12 - Noon - Lunch

After Lunch - For those camping across the street from the center - Time to get your camper ready for the Trailer Tour.

4 PM - 5:30 PM - Trailer Tour! The tour is open to the public. Donations to the Hamilton Food Pantry.

6 PM - Dinner

** SOTF 7 PM - Sister Mini Quilt Show- We will have a walk-around quilt show!

** SOTF 8 PM - Fat Quarter game. Bring 6 fat quarters to play.

FRIDAY

8 AM - Farewell Breakfast

11 AM - Check Out

What to expect:

Sewing tables - Each person will have their own 2’ x 4’ table. Due to limited space, we ask that you do not bring your own tables except for TV trays. If you need your personal sewing chair, feel free to bring it. The Retreat Center has design walls by the sewing tables. We do have assigned seating for sewing, so if you are traveling with friends and would like to sit together to sew, please contact: jessica.vaughn@missouriquiltco.comsusan@missouriquiltco.com.

Meals - A continental breakfast will be served Wednesday and Thursday mornings and Friday will be a hot Farewell Breakfast. All starting at 7:00 am. Our breakfast includes cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, yogurt, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, & fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner will be provided by our local caterers. Lunches are served at noon Wednesday and Thursday. Dinners will be served at 6:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Snack Table - There will be a snack sharing table. Feel free to bring your own favorite munchies or special non-alcoholic drinks to share. There is coffee, tea, water, and ice available for us. We do have use of the kitchen area except when the meals are being served. The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher that we can use. If you have a favorite cup you like to use, please consider bringing it. (The Retreat Center has gone to all paper products.) Please be considerate to others and clean up after you use the kitchen.

Shipping - Shipping is FREE for all of our guests who ship items from out stores and sister stores

Missouri Star Quilt Co. is located 15 minutes east of I-35, along MO Hwy 36, approximately 60 miles north of Kansas City. If you are flying in, you'll want to fly into Kansas City International airport. We have a few local shuttle options around Hamilton that would be happy to pick you up and bring to our Quilt Town USA.

In our retreat center we have the following sleep accommodations:

  • 8 bedrooms upstairs with 3-5 beds per room in the main Retreat Center that share 6 communal restrooms.
  • 2 rooms downstairs with their own restroom that are accessible for individuals with disabilities.

Our bedrooms are shared rooms, configured in several different ways with 3-5 beds per room. There are six individual bathrooms, each with a shower, toilet and sink, just steps away from the bedrooms that are shared by all the guests on the second floor. We also have two bedrooms located on the main floor, each with two twin beds and its own bathroom, that we reserve for individuals who cannot physically climb the stairs to the second floor.

PLEASE NOTE:

Handicapped Rooms will be hidden online. You must call Jessica @ 720-338-8416 to reserve one of the two rooms.

All rooms upstairs are shared rooms. NO PRIVATE ROOMS.

Ages 18 and over please.

Rooms are assigned to individuals who purchased tickets to that room. In the case of male retreaters, we ask that these men agree to be reassigned to our Mini Retreat facility. Missouri Star Quilt Co. continues to explore retreat offerings that meet our customer’s interests and demands. We hope you will consider joining one of our retreats!

  • Food or Soda (dining options listed above and Hy-Klas Grocery Store 1/2 block from the retreat center)
  • Casual, comfy attire
  • Blow dryer, ear plugs and pj's
  • Boots and petticoats
  • A Quilt to share

REFUND POLICY: This is a NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION. In the event that you register then are unable to come, you may transfer this registration to someone else.
