6-week workshop series

Curious about transitioning into tech but don't know where to start? Our Sisters Learning Code virtual workshop series is geared toward Women of Color looking to upskill their talents and grow their careers.

What You'll Learn

You will learn about coding languages HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and gain practical skills by completing a project you can share online.

Upon completion of the 6-weeks, you'll walk away with the ultimate developer toolkit as you learn to code your very own website portfolio that will definitely get you noticed.

During this project-based workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of coding, including HTML5 and CSS3, along with the Bootstrap framework with the help of our amazing Mentors! During this series, you'll receive the following:

  • Weekly live, virtual sessions covering how to create a beautiful, multipage page website with images and a CSS-defined layout
  • Weekly assignments to deepen your knowledge and understanding
  • Access to weekly small group peer mentoring with our Learning Squads
  • Confidence and community in a private learning environment
  • Certificate upon completion of the course

  • Week 1: Intro to HTML
  • Week 2: Intro to HTML\CSS
  • Week 3: Intro to CSS & Responsive Design
  • Week 4: Intro to GitHub & CSS
  • Week 5: Intro to JavaScript
  • Week 6: Intro to JavaScript (cont.)

How to Prepare:

  • No coding experience necessary
  • Access to Zoom video conferencing software
  • Wifi-enabled computer is required
  • Web browser such as Chrome or FireFox
  • Permissions to download software application such as Sublime Text onto laptop
  • Please familiarize yourself with Philly Tech Sistas Code of Conduct
  • Must be 18 years or older

Philly Tech Sistas does not offer refunds. If you need to cancel for any reason, you may arrange with another attendee to sell your ticket to. Once sold or exchanged, email us to confirm the transfer. If the class is rescheduled, moved to a different location, or canceled by PTS, all participants will be refunded.
