About this event

This tour is pay-what-you-want ! If you enjoy the tour, please provide appropriate compensation! CASH ONLY please! Usually, I receive $15 to $20 per adult, but you are free to give more or less than that, depending on how you feel about the tour. As you can imagine, I need to work hard to earn your appreciation!

Tours have always been pay-what-you-want, but advance registration is now REQUIRED. I need to ensure that there will not be too many people on the tour, and I need to be able to communicate with you if the tour needs to be cancelled due to the weather or low signups.

THIS TOUR REQUIRES A MINIMUM NUMBER OF SIGNUPS IN ORDER TO RUN! If the minimum number is not reached, the tour will be cancelled. You will receive either a tour confirmation email with some last minute details or a cancellation email through Eventbrite no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of the tour. Please check your email the day before the tour and please read any email that you receive about the tour through Eventbrite!

This cool downtown tour shows you some of Raleigh’s best and most vibrant large scale art works!

All Sip n' Stroll tours start in front of Whiskey Kitchen at 201 W. Martin St. The starting point is on Martin St., not on McDowell St. The tour leaves the starting point VERY quickly so that we can start seeing all of the fabulous art, so PLEASE be on time!

The exact route that we will take will depend on whether a concert or other event is being held at the Red Hat Amphitheater at the time of the tour. Because of this, please check the email that you will receive the day before the tour, where you will find the end point for the tour and also directions that you can use to find our group if you are late to the tour! All tours will end somewhere near the Convention Center, and the end point will be approximately 1.5 to 3 blocks away from the starting point at Whiskey Kitchen.

This tour will take place entirely within the downtown Sip n' Stroll district! But you do not need to buy a drink to participate in the tour -- this is not a pub crawl!! While we will not be making any specific stops for drinks, please feel free to arrive early and purchase a drink at Whiskey Kitchen before the tour starts.

PLEASE NOTE: You are not permitted to bring your own alcohol to this event! All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from a participating establishment and must be in a specific Sip n' Stroll plastic cup with a date & timestamp, so you also cannot use a koozie with your beverage because the details on the cup need to be visible throughout the tour.

The line at Whiskey Kitchen's bar can be long, so you may also want to consider purchasing a drink at a different establishment before the tour starts. For a list of all the establishments that participate in the Sip n' Stroll program, please click HERE.

Once the tour starts, we will not be stopping for any other drinks along the route, so please make sure that you have a beverage at the start of the tour if you want one!

Most street parking is paid until 6:00 pm on Fridays and all street parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays. If you prefer to park in a deck, the closest parking deck is the Wake County parking deck, located at 216 W. Cabarrus St., on the corners of Davie, McDowell and Cabarrus streets. Vehicular entrances are located on Cabarrus and Davie streets. This deck is 1 block away from the starting point of the tour and will also be convenient to all tour end points.

PLEASE NOTE: In the fall of 2023, I changed up the routes for all 3 of my art tours. So now there is no overlap between any of the tours!
