Simple Sewn Structures

In this one day workshop, students will learn the basics of sewing books by creating a series of simple sewn structures. Beginning with a single signature pamphlet, students will learn the basics of folding and sewing. We will build on that simple structure, making two signature pamphlets before exploring different types of covers. Finally, we will fold a simple slip case to keep them all together. Students will leave the workshop with four completed book structures and the basic knowledge to start sewing simple books on their own.
