SIM3 Auditor Certification training (3 days)

The SIM3 Training English Class scheduled for June 17-19 has been cancelled due to lack of attendance.

We are considering holding future events in Asia, so we hope you will join us there.

The Nippon CSIRT Association (NCS) and the Open CSIRT Foundation (OCF) together organise a SIM3 Auditor Certification training (3 full days) right after the FIRST conference in Fukuoka, Japan, from 17 to 19 June 2024. One track will be in English, and the other in Japanese. The goal of the training is to become certified as SIM3 Auditor.

The course is recommended for those involved in building and operating CSIRTs and those involved in security-related work.This is an excellent opportunity to learn about incident management.If you are a manager or leader of a CSIRT and are in charge of its construction or operation, we welcome you to attend this training. We lookg forward to your participation.

Qualifications:

- Participants are expected to have sufficient knowledge of incident management, including at least three years of experience in CSIRT operations or similar.

- To take the course, you will be asked to submit your CV.

An OCF SIM3 certified trainer will determine your eligibility for participation in the course according to the content of your CV.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the entire training and passing the final exam, you will be awarded the OCF Certified SIM3 Auditor designation.

Please note, however, that the following actions will result in your certification not being granted.In addition, the participation fee and certification fee will not be refunded.

- Attendance at all lectures and exercises is required for certification.

Certification may not be granted if you are late, drop out, or leave the class.

If you have an unavoidable reason, please consult with the instructor/staff.

- Performing unrelated work or company work during the lectures/exercises, will result in the non-approval of certification.

Please consult with the instructor/staff if emergency work or other such activities must be performed.

Participation Fee: 275,000 yen (including consumption tax)

The above amount includes the training fee and the 1st 1.5 year (until end of 2025) of the annual certification fee of 300 euros.

The fee does not include meals, accommodation, transportation, etc.

An invoice will be sent to you once you have been accepted to the course. Please transfer the amount to the designated account.

Please note that bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the participant.

As a rule, payment is due by May 31, 2024. If you are unable to make payment by the due date, please contact the Secretariat in advance.

Notice:

- The Executive Committee will decide if the event must be cancelled or scaled back due to force majuere or other reasons.

- The Executive Committee assumes no responsibility for theft, accident, injury, or other issues that may occur within the venue or in individual accommodation facilities.

- Please note that all course materials will be provided in English, with some exceptions. Lectures will be given in two separate classes, one in Japanese and one in English. Please choose your preferred langauge when registering.

- If the minimum applicant numbers are not achieved, only the English class will be offered. In this case, please note that even if you choose Japanese, you will be placed in the English class.In this case, English assistance will be provided. In addition, the examination can be submitted in Japanese.

- Please be sure to bring your own writing materials.

Cancellation Policy:

- After May 18, 2024, the registration fee will not be refunded.

- Regardless of the above deadline, participants will be responsible for any bank transfer fees, etc. incurred due to cancellations after registration.

- As a rule, the cancellation policy will apply even if a force majuere or other event makes it impossible to participate on the day of the training.

- In the event a state of emergency is declared or a major disaster occurs at the site of the training that makes it difficult to hold the training, the event will be canceled and the full amount will be returned.
