About this event

[BY INVITATION]

The Centers of Excellence within the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy is hosting a third facilitator training workshop in collaboration with Policy Research Associates (PRA).

This training will occur on May 7 and May 8, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy located at 100 Community Place, Crownsville, MD 21032.

The train-the-trainer process related to the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) trains state and local subject matter experts within criminal justice and behavioral health systems to apply the SIM for cross-system planning through SIM mapping workshops. These workshops include the identification of local resources and gaps in services, as well as strategic planning around established priorities for change. SIM mapping workshops bring together leaders and different agencies and systems to work together to identify strategies to divert people with mental and substance use disorders within the justice system into treatment services.

Registration for this facilitator training indicates a commitment to facilitate SIM mappings at the request of local jurisdictions through the Centers of Excellence.

The Centers of Excellence requests a written letter from all registrants' supervisors indicating a commitment to the 2-day training and future SIM mappings before the event.
