SilvoPro is a 3-day training for producers, agricultural professionals, and technical service providers who want to take agriculture to new heights by implementing silvopasture. Rural Action is delighted to host Austin Unruh and his team at Trees for Graziers for this 3-day training, held at United Plant Savers.Silvopasture is the managed integration of trees, livestock and forage. Austin is the founder of Trees For Graziers and author of The Grazier’s Guide to Trees, built TFG into a leading silvopasture and conservation implementation company. In this course the TFG team shares all they have learned through years of applied practice so you can fast-track your own silvopasture career and practice. <ul><li>Visit working farms that have implemented silvopasture at scale</li><li>Dive deep into the process of developing silvopasture plans</li><li>Interact with a cohort of fellow practitioners</li><li>Learn how to spread silvopasture in your region</li><li>Open up real professional opportunities.</li></ul>There are limited spots for this 3-day training! If you are interested in ONLY attending day two, when we will be visiting a silvopasture site in southeast Ohio, you can purchase tickets for just that day.Apply for a FACT (Food Animal Concerns Trust) reimbursement scholarship to attend this training! <a href="https://www.foodanimalconcernstrust.org/scholarships" title="https://www.foodanimalconcernstrust.org/scholarships" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Learn more here</a>. <h3>Full agenda: </h3>Day 1 - June 11<ul><li>Breakfast &amp; lunch: on your own. Snacks available throughout day. </li><li>12-3pm: Classroom session at United Plant Savers (UPS)</li><li>3:30-5pm: Farm visit to Bill Krusling’s farm -- sheep grazier who has been planting trees into pasture for years.</li><li>6pm: Dinner catered by Olive Branch Catering at UPS</li><li>Evening: Hang out and have fun or head to your lodging. No planned activities. </li></ul>Day 2 - June 12<ul><li>Breakfast: on your own</li><li>9-4pm: Farm visit to MoSo Farm all day -- Tour 8 acre and 2 acre planting, woodlot conversion area, white pine windbreak, and hazelnut planting. Demo of several ways to protect trees. Mock tree planting and mock layout. Hands-on experience with tree protection methods. </li><li>12-1pm: Lunch catered by Chelsea’s Real Food at MoSo Farm (local corned beef from Trouvaille Farm)</li><li>5:30pm: Dinner catered by Olive Branch Catering at UPS</li><li>7pm: Optional visit to Trouvaille Farm -- nearby diversified farm interested in implementing silvopasture.</li></ul>Day 3 - June 13<ul><li>Breakfast: on your own </li><li>9-12pm: Final day of training at United Plant Savers -- Whole group works on mock-up silvopasture plans. Smaller groups work on specific prompts. Then individuals work on several prompts related to next steps for their future in silvopasture. (A non-profit might work on how to get more education out there, a business might work on how to get silvopasture established on a few farms, etc.</li><li>12pm: Boxed lunch to go by Olive Branch Catering at UPS </li><li>Attendees depart </li></ul>
