(The PREREQUISITE for this class is Level 1 - Meet The Butane Torch or prior butane torch silver soldering)

In this introductory level torch soldering class students will learn the basic equipment, safety, and materials for butt soldering sterling silver, copper, and brass. We’ll cover different solder types and temperatures, metal properties and applications for multi operation soldering and the tools/materials necessary to set up a workable soldering station at home. You will create earrings or a pendant. Perfect for those beginning their jewelry making journey or those just needing a skills refresh.

There is a supply kit fee made payable to the teacher day of class by cash or check. Please come prepared to pay this fee.

All other tools will be available for use.

Our classroom is located upstairs and are limited to 6 students for this class.

The shop and classrooms are comfortable and inviting.  There's so much to see, you might find yourself there for a long while.The NW Rockhounds Education Center is powered by Shunpike and can receive tax deductible donations. Shunpike is the 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that provides independent arts groups in Washington State with the services, resources and opportunities they need to forge their own paths to sustainable success. CLASS POLICIES

PLEASE NOTE UPDATED POLICIES ARE EFFECTIVE January 1, 2022

REFUND POLICY: Students who withdraw 8 days (or more) prior to the start date of the first class receive a full refund. Students who withdraw 7 days (or less) prior to the start date of the first class DO NOT receive a refund of any kind.

CANCELLATIONS: All classes not meeting their minimum requirement three days prior to class start date may be cancelled. In the event of class cancellation by NW Rockhounds, you will be notified by e-mail or by phone and receive a full refund of tuition and fees. 

MISSED CLASSES: There are no discounts or refunds for missed classes or late registrations.

HOLD HARMLESS: I agree to hold harmless NW Rockhounds, its employees and agents for any and all claims for personal injury and/or property damage in which damage and injury is or appears to be proximately caused in whole or in part by my participation in this program.
