Protect Yourself from Scams with SilverShield

In honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, Steuben County Office for the Aging is partnering with SilverShield to help older adults protect themselves from scams and fraud.

Join us in person for a free SilverShield training event. During this session, participants will be guided on how to use SilverShield, a helpful tool that can review suspicious texts, emails, or phone calls and help determine whether they are legitimate or scams.

SilverShield will teach you how to report suspicious texts, emails, or phone calls to them so they can help you identify whether it is real or a scam, then walk you through what to do next, step by step.

What is SilverShield?

SilverShield is a scam and fraud prevention service designed to help you feel more confident when something seems suspicious. Got a strange text? An email that does not look right? A phone call you are unsure about? Send it to SilverShield, and they will help you figure out what is real and what may be a scam.

Steuben County Office for the Aging has 30 FREE lifetime SilverShield subscriptions available for Steuben County residents age 60 and older.

Pre-registration is required, and on a first-come, first-served basis.
