About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Every 1st Wednesday, we bring the Bay's most exciting variety acts to the Peninsula in Redwood City. First time seeing a burlesque show? The fun of burlesque is that it can be many things, but always, it's a celebration of the performer's creativity, body, and personality. Expect sultry striptease, absurdity, queer bliss, and a butt-slaping (with consent of course) good time!

All are welcome ... the only "rules" are to have fun, respect and hype up your performers, and consent is mandatory!

For May's show, all tips will support the 2024 Bay Area Legends Challenge. The Legends Challenge raises money to cover expenses for our burlesque legends to attend the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender.

The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend is the world’s biggest, most prestigious burlesque gathering and also the longest running. Continuous since 1957, the weekend has its roots in BHoF founder Jennie Lee’s annual gathering of stars from the art’s heyday. Since Jennie’s passing in 1990, Dixie Evans upheld that dream, growing the reunion from a private gathering of retired dancers and performers into the internationally renowned four-day Las Vegas extravaganza now known as the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend.

As the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend has grown, so has our commitment to celebrating the women and men who made burlesque great. We are proud of our Living Legends—and we need your help to get as many of them as possible to Vegas this year. We can’t spell “Burlesque” without “U,” so please help us rock this year’s BHoF Weekend Legends Challenge!

Created in 2011 by Sparkly Devil, the BHoF weekend Legends Challenge is a fundraising effort where we challenge members of the international burlesque community to show their love for our Living Legends by helping us raise money to help the museum offset the cost of having them attend the BHoF Weekend every June.

In today’s difficult financial climate, BHoF has very limited funds—and as such, our ability to comp hotel rooms for all performing Legends, provide weekend ticket passes to all attending Legends, and cover travel costs for our honored guests has been severely compromised. By holding a Legends Challenge Event or donating to the Legends Challenge you are not only helping us bring vintage superstars to Las Vegas, you are helping support the Hall of Fame itself!

Dorian Dietrich (they/she) has delivered deliciously decadent performances to audiences around the Bay Area since their burlesque debut in 2016. They are known for their sultry brand of singing striptease, often combining gender play with their captivating presence. Dorian produces two shows in Redwood City, CA at The Hub RWC: Silhouette and Wunderkammer Kabarett.

Silhouette — Burlesque, every 1st Wednesday

Silhouette was a queer club in Weimar-era Berlin. Frequented by such stars as Marlene Dietrich (Dorian’s namesake) and Anita Berber, this smokey nightclub was a haven for Berlin’s queers to show out in their chosen expression, and we aspire to be a space where everyone can feel empowered in their expression.

Featuring burlesque, drag, and other variety performers on a catwalk stage, Silhouette is a sensual, ecstatic experience, both sexy and outrageous. Come for a good time, stay for the good feels.

Wunderkamer Kabarett — Variety, every 3rd Wednesday

First premiered in 2019 at the RIC in Oakland, Wunderkammer (Cabinet of Curiosities) Kabarett is Dorian Dietrich’s vision of a darker cabaret experience, based in their love of Weimar-era Berlin cabaret. It is a series of variety shows highlighting the dark, peculiar, and bizarre side of live entertainment.

Featuring circus artists, singers and musicians, drag performers, burlesque, and other odd things under the sun, Wunderkammer Kabarett is your mid-week invitation to see something a little different. This is not your Vegas-style sparkly revue; it’s a dive into a smokey, deliciously decadent cabaret where fantasies come to play.
