About this event

  • 7 hours 30 minutes

Our Silent Grief retreat will begin Friday evening, with check-in time beginning at 4:00 PM and will last through Sunday morning. We look forward to meeting friends from our Silent Grief community!

Throughout the weekend we will have plenty of time to hear Clara speak, visit the United 93 National memorial (1 mile from the camp entrance), eat meals together, have free time, and have a candle light service to remember your child(dren).

Your meals are provided the entire weekend, including breakfast Sunday! This is a camp setting, so be sure to bring bed linens and a pillow. We will sleep in two large lodges that are equipped with their own bathrooms and a common room with a fireplace. The beds are single mattresses so married couples may be required to sleep in separate beds to be more comfortable. They will still be in the same cabin.

Camp Allegheny is located in the beautiful Laurel Highlands and its property adjoins the Flight 93 property where Flight 93 came to rest on September 11, 2001. We will visit the memorial site together and everyone is free to revisit during our free time as well.

We will have plenty of time to make friends, hike, rest, and just enjoy yourself for the weekend! We will have a keynote talk with Clara on Saturday then a breakout. We have camp fires planned for the evenings where we can roast marshmallows, drink coffee, and relax together. We will be right at the tail end of peak season for the fall leaves, so it should be plenty beautiful. Bring warm clothes. It tends to get very chilly this time of year.

We look forward to meeting you all and spending the weekend together!

In order to create a multiple day event we would have to sell individual tickets for each day. This event runs Friday, October 18th through Sunday, October 20th.

What do I need to bring?

There are two camp lodges for sleeping. Please bring bed linens and a pillow. Plan to dress in warm clothes because temps in October can be chilly.

What are the cabins like?

There are bunk beds and each lodge is divided into two sides. Each cabin has its own bathrooms with showers and a common area with a fireplace.

What is there to do in our free time?

There are miles of hiking trails, a game room building, a gym, camp fires at each lodge, a basket ball court, gaga pit, benches with scenic views, or you can leave camp to explore local sites.

What will we do if it rains?

The camp has plenty of indoor activities in case of rain. We can utilize the gameroom, gym, and Camp Center if the weather is bad. The indoor facilities recently underwent rennovation and are modern and cozy!

Are meals provided?

Yes! All meals and lodging are provided as part of your registration fee. Meals will be in the dining hall and are buffet style.

Can I bring my children?

Due to the sensitivity of topics discussed it is recommended that children under the age of 17 not attend.
