About this event

SIDEWALK SATURDAY

Where creativity + community collide

Come vend at an open-air artisan market open to all small businesses, local artists, and creatives every Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. from September through May.

Please read in entirely before purchasing tickets to self qualify.

Step 1: Select a category + space sest up that best represents your business. We strive for an inclusive market of handmade goods and want to avoid over saturation of any one category. Be aware there are two options for space set up: You can choose a full canopy/tent set up or a table with an umbrella.

Step 2: Checkout

Step 3: You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please note that this is your confirmation and to keep it.

Step 4: The Friday before the market you signed up for, you will receive your vendor placement either on the sidewalks of 1st & Garfield or Roosevelt.

For promotional purposes, use @SidewalkSaturdayPhx with your location as Roosevelt Row Ars District. You will be placed at either The Churchill or Phoenix General (with more locations to be announced for next year).

Please ensure that you can commit to the rules and guidelines outlined in the FAQ and are able to stay for the duration of the market before registering. Leaving early without prior notice and approval can impact your ability to participate in future markets. We trust that everyone is capable of self-qualifying.

Tickets are structured into vending categories to promote a diverse mix of brands and offerings.

Please note: this is an artisan market and therefore, spaces are available for makers, small businesses, and creatives. This is not a space for for timeshare presentations or promotional booths. Unfortunately, we also cannot accept food trucks, with some exceptions (see FAQ). If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out for pre-approval before registering.

Frequently asked questions

What is Sidewalk Saturdays?

Sidewalk Saturdays is a celebration of local community, creativity and collaboration as local brands, artists, and musicians come together to share their craft on the sidewalks of Downtown Phoenix.

When is Sidewalk Saturdays?

This is a weekly market that takes place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. outside The Churchill and across Downtown Phoenix. Times are adjusted seasonally. Please refer to the schedule for current timing.

How do I become a Vendor?

We have simplified the process for becoming a vendor at Sidewalk Saturday. If you have vended with us before, please register at www.sidewalksaturdays.com. If you’re new, please review the FAQ and ensure you are a fit for the market and agree to the process and ground rules before registering.

Who can be a vendor?

We give preference to artisans with a valid EIN number and who is registered to sell product in Arizona. Food and beverage vendors are limited but we do welcome pastry and dessert vendors to apply. Please reach out for pre-approval before purchasing a spot.

When will I be notified if I am accepted as a vendor?

If you registered via eventbrite, you’re confirmed. All the details re: set up is outlined in eventbrite and in the FAQ. We will be emailing a vendor map the Friday before the market. If you have additional questions, please direct them to SidewalksaturdaysPHX@gmail.com

How many vendors do you accept each week?

At this time we have space for about 23 vendors that will wrap the perimeter of The Churchill along the sidewalks on First Street and Garfield. We are committed to supporting new and expanding artisans in the Downtown Community.

How much space is allotted for each vendor?

For a canopy or tent, the space is 10x10 ft. For space with an umbrella, it's about an 8x6 ft spot, enough for an 8ft table and small display or rack.

Can I apply to volunteer?

Yes! Please. Sidewalk Saturday has always intended to be a community-led project with artisans and creative brands at the helm. Please email Sidewalksaturdaysphx@gmail.com with your inquiry and we’ll go from there.

I filled out an application, but I haven’t heard back. What’s up with that?

We recently shifted our process from a google form to eventbrite. If you filled out an application through our previous process, please register via eventbrite. All other questions, please direct to sidewalksaturdaysphx@gmail.com.

I registered for the previous markets, do I need to reapply for future markets?

Yes, if you’ve attended Sidewalk Saturday as a vendor in the past, you can register for as many dates as you plan to attend via eventbrite. Keep in mind that we are no longer honoring refund requests.

No-Show Policy

While we know that life is unexpected and things arise out of our control, if you are a no-call-no-show, we reserve the right to deny you from future market dates. You also will still be responsible for your vendor fee. Please keep in mind that successful markets are because of those who show up.

What if traffic is slow on Market day?

‘Tis the market life. The hard truth is that some weekends will be slower than others. Consistency is key and it evens out. It’s Downtown Phoenix and always growing. Tag us in your promotions @TheChurchillPhx & @SidewalkSaturday so we can support reach and exposure.

What are the vendor fees and requirements?

Vendor fees are $45 -$75 per vendor/per market + eventbrite fees. All vendors must provide their own set up, which will vary depending on whether you've selected a 10x10 or 8x6 ft space.

Do I need to bring my own table?

Yes! We do not provide a table or umbrella.

Do you have tents or umbrellas available?

Unfortunately, we do not have tents or umbrella’s available for use, which is why we strongly encourage you to invest in your own for market attendance.

Do I need to have an EIN number?

That’s ideal, yes!

Do I need to have a TPT License?

As long as you’re selling a good or service in Arizona, whether or not you have employees, you need to have a Tax Privilege Transaction number to set up for Sidewalk Saturdays. Find more information here.

Do I need any licensing or insurance?

You must be a registered business in the State of Arizona with your Tax Privilege Transaction and, at minimum, liability insurance. If you are found to not have these, you will be asked to not participate until you do. We appreciate everyone doing what they can to ensure protect the space.

What happens if I fall into more than 1 category when registering?

That just means you're versatile. Cool. We like it. Choose the category that best represents the products you'll be showcasing.

How do I know which spot I'll be in on Market Day?

This market is first-come-first serve based on the category you selected. The Friday before the market, we will be emailing you your vendor spot.

It's market day, what if I have to leave early?

Life happens. We get it. We will address this on a case-by-case basis, but communication is key. Please let us know well in advance if you know you'll need to leave early. We have a zero tolerance policy for vendors who pack up and leave early without notice. We appreciate your understanding.

What if it rains?

Weather happens! If we wake up market day to rain, or it begins to rain during the market, we will cancel and allow you to put your registration to a future date. We will try to let you know at least 1 hour before check in if there is a cancellation. There will be no refunds.

Do you have power available to vendors?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee power to the sidewalks for vendors. Please prepare to bring your own power. If you run into any trouble, reach out individually to discuss and explore options.

I signed up to bring my Canopy, where do I check in?

If you signed up for a canopy spot, you will check in at Phoenix General.
