The Staten Island Community Organizations Active in Disaster (SI COAD) coalition assists Staten Island nonprofit organizations in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from everyday emergencies and large-scale disasters, both natural and man-made. Through education, communication, situational awareness, and assessing assets and needs, the SI COAD serves as a learning exchange and coordinative force for both proactive planning and effective response in Staten Island.
The mission of SI COAD is to (1) better prepare partners for disasters and emergencies and (2) facilitate collective action and response in the event of such crises, utilizing communication, coordination, cooperation, and collaboration. We invite you to join us for our general membership meeting to be a part of this important work. All organizations and agencies serving Staten Island communities are welcome!
